the pigs suffer so much for us, the pig mothers in particular are the ones that suffer the most
for our bacon and ham.
They are locked down in concrete stalls, those stalls are so small, they can't even scratch
themselves or turn around.
Personally I don't eat ham anymore. Factorized meats don't really taste good anymore! Or
have you not noticed the "plastic" taste?? Can't beat a natural environment of grass, fresh air and
sunshine. Different environments produce different tastes even in meat.
Free range versus factory produced pork?

If you love animals, the choice is simple! Don't eat them.

Our Politicians have a lot to answer for, to let such monstrosities be legal. Shame on you John Howard, you are guilty of animal abuse! MoneyEconomy is not the only thing that should count!

Tragically, this government 'welfare' review was never about pig welfare; it was about the welfare of industry operators. Every caring Australian should be outraged at this pretence and at recommendations that will condemn pigs to another decade of cruelty.

Animals Australia has joined with leading legal representatives and renowned philosopher Professor Peter Singer in condemning recommendations that, if accepted by government ministers, will condemn millions of Australian pigs to a further decade of cruelty. The revised Code continues to allow industry operators to severely confine sows in individual, tiny 'sow stalls' for their entire 16 week pregnancies for a further decade as well as other cruel practices which, if inflicted on a dog or cat, would be cruelty offences...

More than ever these intelligent, sensitive animals are depending on us.
